Rowan Basilicato

  • Began studies on piano at the early age of five and later studied voice with Florence

    Copeland of Milford, CT.

  • Later studied drums, extensive theory and ear training with Edward R. Pascal and guitar with Judy Davies, both of Milford, CT.

  • Performed with the Milford High School A Cappella Choir at All State Regionals, Hrtfd, CT.

  • Was accepted at both the University of Bridgeport and Hartt College of Music. Attended the University of Bridgeport, majoring in the Music Education Program.

  • Taught privately at Milford Music Center, Milford, CT giving instruction on piano, drums, guitar and voice.

  • Traveled extensively in Europe, performing professionally with various hotel and club bands.

  • Toured extensively on the East and West Coast with different musicians including Michael Bolton and Marion Meadows.

  • Joined the Tokarski Music Center staff in 1988 and was named Assistant Director of Music Education and Choral Director for the studio in 1990.

  • Opened Goldie & Libro School of Music, North Haven, CT as Director of Music Education in September, 2003. Chose to terminate that relationship 10 months later.

  • Partnered with Indu Gupta and opened Tune Inn Academy LLC, North Haven, CT in July, 2004 as co-owner/Director. Continued to operate Tune Inn Academy through January, 2014. Chose not to return to building after frozen pipes caused flooding.

  • Currently composes and performs musical scores for pilot projects for children's video and television programming.

  • Continues with private instruction on piano, guitar, voice, theory, drums and music composition.

  • Completed Kindermusik training in Greenwich and Simsbury, CT. Licensed in all levels of curricula.

  • Member of the Schubert Club which sponsors the Young Musicians Festival held each year at Fairfield University, Pequot Library in Southport, CT and other CT locations.

  • Formed Rowen B. Music & Art, January, 2014. Rented space and began teaching within Music Center of North Haven, North Haven, CT.

    ARTISTIC ENDEAVORS:

  • Began on a new artistic path in 1982 after meeting former "Muppeteer" husband Tony Basilicato.

  • Worked on various puppet projects as lead puppet fabricator and costumer in addition to composing and performing musical scores for different pilot projects.

  • Was a member of team that created a series of electronic game books and safety books published by Reader's Digest, Young Families Division.

  • Involved in creation/fabrication of life-sized cartoon characters used as display pieces in car dealership showrooms.

  • Participated in the creation and fabrication of huge plaster gargoyle ceiling and display pieces for former "Gargoyles Restaurant" in Wallingford, CT.

  • Co-taught art classes through Wallingford Board of Education Talented and Gifted Program. Included in the classes were subjects such as cartooning, puppetry, animation, movie- making, monster making, sculpture, etc. using a variety of different mediums.

  • Involved in new product line as "clean-up" artist and master painter for hand-made sculptures soon being brought to market.
